Like Alessandria, it says no to the abandonment of animals

ALEXANDRIAThe ATA Animal Protection Association this year too it is proposing an information campaign aimed at raising awareness against the phenomenon ofabandonment of animalsmaking use as usual of the collaboration with the Department for the Protection of Animals of the Municipality of Alessandria, with the aim of preventing the phenomenon of stray animals, which tends to intensify particularly during the summer.

“Like every year, the phenomenon of abandonment of cats and dogs intensifies around the summer holidays,” he says the Councilor for Animal Welfare Marica Barrera, “I take this opportunity to remember the commitment of the Veterinary Clinic of the Botanical Garden, managed by the Animal Protection association in collaboration with the Animal Protection Office, which helps many families in financial difficulty with basic care for their animals: we will try to further improve the services available for our animal friends, and for this reason we also ask you to spread this service to those who may not yet be aware. The appeal to sterilize is also incessant, the only and effective remedy to prevent abandonment: the Municipality of Alessandria sterilizes the colonies and also helps with sterilizations, just contact the relevant office. With ATA we propose a manifesto that should first and foremost strike the hearts of people who have an animal. The posters will be displayed in some important points of the city, to ensure that the message can truly reach as many people as possible: it is heartening, in continuing the work of the organization, to note that the sensitivity of the people of Alessandria is truly great and the incessant and precious work of associations in the area”.

The most worrying aspect in our territory is feline abandonment: puppies, many of them, even some with just a few days to live and therefore often with enormous difficulties for the volunteers who try to save them. A continuous, incessant information campaign, curated not only for the summer, but in this delicate period, the collaboration of all pet lovers is requested, who will be able to “post” themselves with their puppy on social media, to convey the message with the aim of widening the space for awareness.
