JOY OF THE HILL – The Joy Volley Gioia del Colle shores up the spikers department with the hiring of Romolo Mariano.
Protagonist for ten consecutive seasons in Serie A2, the thirty-two year old player from Bergamo accepts the challenge in A3 with the red and white colours, convinced by president Gianni D’Elia.
Raised in the youth sector of Olimpia Bergamo, after five championships played in B1 Romolo landed in the Swiss top flight, where he won two consecutive championships with EN Gas&Oil Lugano (from 2012 to 2014).

“The call from Joy Volley came at the right time in my career – declares the new red and white spiker -. After the last few seasons in A2 spent chasing the goal of salvation, I felt the need to return to competing for prestigious goals. For this reason I did not miss this opportunity, willingly accepting to move down a category. Bringing Gioia del Colle back to A2 is a mission that fills me with stimuli and motivation – goes on -. We have all the potential to create something beautiful and important. To achieve this, however, we will have to be good at managing the pressure and maintaining focus on our game in every single match. By putting our maximum effort into training, I am convinced that we will be able to give our fans a lot of satisfaction“.
