Tomorrow morning, at 10 am, at the Ettore Fieramosca Castle in Mignano Montelungo (Caserta), the interregional initiative of CISL Calabria And CISL Campania Knowing to prevent and protect.
The event is held in the municipality that was the scene of the greatest tragedy from the post-war period to today, where a violent explosion during the construction of the tunnel for the Enel power plant in Cannavinelle caused the death of 42 workers from different regions (Campania, Calabria, Abruzzo, Lazio, Basilicata and Lombardy) all between 21 and 48 years old and 55 seriously injured.
The interregional event is part of the awareness campaign and mobilization initiatives launched by the CISL, on the theme of health and safety such as “Let’s stop the trail of blood”, which culminated in the National Assembly last April.
«We believe it is essential – we read in a note – to implement all useful forms and tools to preserve and defend the safety of those who work and to avoid deaths and accidents in work environments which in our country have reached unacceptable levels».
After the opening of the proceedings by the general secretary of CISL Campania Doriana Buonavita, and the greetings of the mayor of Mignano Monte Lungo, Andrea De Lucathe national confederal secretary CISL will speak, Mattia Pirullion the “strategic objectives and the CISL intervention plan”, and the national CISL manager for Health and Safety at Work, Cinzia Frascheri, which will illustrate the legislative innovations on the subject and the impacts on the role and tools of workers’ representatives for safety.
The initiative is also an opportunity to illustrate, edited by Fulvio Londei of national Ial, the national ImpacT -Rls investigation on the figure of the workers’ safety representative, while it will be up to the person responsible for Inas Calabria Salvatore Cantarella, illustrate the “fundamental role of the Patronato”. At the end of the works in Cannavinelle, the site of the disaster, a laurel wreath will be laid in memory of the victims.
