The Grand Gala of Ancona with twelve world-class dancers

Not only an opportunity to see some stars of the international scene at work, but also an opportunity to train with great masters and perform in front of a jury of experts from all over Europe. Now in its 11th edition, the Gran Galà di Danza, organized by the regional Arte nella Danza Foundation directed by Eugenia Morosanu, with the patronage of the Region and the Municipality of Ancona, broadens its horizons, offering local talents the opportunity to refine their style and show off.

The departure

The Gala will be held on 7 July, at 9pm, at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, and will see twelve international dancers take to the stage, dancing to the notes of famous classical ballets such as “The Sleeping Beauty” by Tchaikovsky, “La Cinderella” by Prokofev and “Il corsaro” by Adam, also presenting, for the first time in the Marche region, choreographies taken from “Le Parc”, a ballet in three acts created in 1994 by Angelin Preljocaj to music by Mozart. Among them Ovidiu Matei Iancu and Ada Gonzalez, principal dancer and prima ballerina of the Bucharest Opera House, Maria Baranova, prima ballerina of the Bavaria State Ballet of Munich, Jinhao Zhang, principal dancer of the Bayerische Staatsoper, Ekaterine Surmava, prima ballerina of the Dortmund Ballet and Philip Fedulov, principal dancer of the Riga Opera House, as well as Maria Sole Bartolini from Ancona, who graduated from the Foundation’s school and became a dancer at the Bucharest National Opera. Before the show there will be a performance by the participants in the International Dance Summit, a week of advanced training organized by the Foundation, which will take place in Ancona from 1 to 6 July. During the internship, participants will be able to listen to the advice of three exceptional teachers: Joan Boix, director of the Cdc ballet school in Barcelona, Alessia Gatta, director of the contemporary dance company “Ritmi sotterranei” and Caterina Rago, founder and artistic director of Crdance.

Competition

On June 29th, again at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, the Art of Dance Competition will take place, an international dance competition (there are many registered people from the Marche region, but also from Austria and Japan), which is not just a competition among kids, with a golden shell up for grabs, but also a serious and in-depth search by choreographers and artistic directors of the talents of tomorrow, to whom they will be able to offer scholarships and work contracts.
