Ravenna, June 26, 2024 – Many by the sea, few parking spaces. It’s everyone’s worry summer weekendand our shores are not new to phenomena of ‘wild parking’, not always respecting the rules.
And so last Sunday in Porto Corsini 47 of them got fines along the way Teseo Guerrathe street where the is located Harbour Master’s Office, behind the cruise terminal. In fact, the local police explain that the arrangement of the cars was such as to prevent any emergency and special vehicles, such as the fire brigade tanker, from passing. “We do not operate with the criterion of repression regardless – explains the commander Andrea Giacomini – but we collect qualified reports and arrange services based on them. In Porto Corsini we received those from Pro loco, residents and several passing citizens. Parking is not allowed on that road, as is clear from the signs along the road. It is an area where it has already happened, during the weekends demand and supply of parking on our beaches do not match.”
From the 47 fines41 are the ‘classic’ parking bans foreseen by the Traffic Laws, costing 41 euros. The other 6 sanctions instead refer to the Navigation Code, since the vehicles were parked in a state-owned area: in this case the amount is 200 euros. In fact, this is the same type of fine that has been imposed for years on those who park their cars on the roads behind the dunes – a phenomenon that we hope has been overcome by the Maritime Park in Marina di Ravenna and Punta Marina.
“Every now and then someone still tries to go to the streets, but it is not a widespread phenomenon – continues Giacomini -. The one-way traffic on weekends is generally respected when officers are present in the roundabout at the entrance to Marina of Ravenna. I advise motorists to be careful, because it is not certain that if the officers are not there at the entrance to the road they cannot be further ahead. At that point they don’t just indicate another path, but they have to make the sanction: better respect the rules and avoid risks”.
To this In this regard, the one-way system on weekends has begun to change the habits of users who frequent Marina di Ravenna, as can be deduced by observing last Sunday’s data relating to the occupation of parking spaces on the seafronts of Avenue of Nations And Colombo Avenue and in the parking lot exchanger. In fact, the latter was 95% full at 6pm on Sunday, immediately before the start of the ‘exodus’ to return home. The two seafronts, however, only filled up at 4.50pm, a sign of a greater propensity of users to use the exchange. The Marchesato car park, however, was empty at 6.10pm.
