“Carmine Vive”, record numbers – Teramo

TERAMO. Record numbers in the tenth edition of the 3×3 “Carmine Vive” basketball tournament, held from 17 to 22 June on the Acquaviva outdoor pitch. The event, organized by Asd Teramo in Spicchi in memory of Carmine Verni, a basketball enthusiast and historic leader of the red and white fans who passed away in 2013, involved around 170 athletes from 43 teams (30 youth, 9 senior men and 4 senior women). These are the winners of the tenth edition. The cup of the senior men’s tournament was lifted by the “I Pentiti” team, composed of Alessandro Di Febo, Francesco Di Paolo, Nazzareno Massotti And Gianluca Mazzagatti. The women’s tournament was won by “Le Under”, formed by Matilde Ciutti, Francesca Di Febo, Sofia Iantorno And Maria Talamonti. The “goliardia” trophy went to the “TaSp 9-1” team with Niki Bartolini, Nazzareno Taraschi And Massimo Mosca. The youth tournaments were won by “Nereto Rosso” (Gino Illuminati, Francesco Cappelletti, Liam Carbonella And Kristian Kurek) in the under 13 category, by “Biggy” (Luca Di Marcantonio, Matteo Manente And Andrea Ferri) in the under 14 category, by the “Tiger” (Federico Cabas, Daniele Petronio, Lorenzo Marra And Giovanni Ciccarelli) and in the under 15s by the “Porchetta Boys” (Francesco De Sanctis, Francesco Mattoni, Franco Meloni And Mattia Troiani). There was so much emotion at the inevitable torchlight last Saturday, the day on which Verni would have celebrated his 50th birthday. (gl)
