A fight breaks out, presumably over the money that the son is still asking for and the loss of the house that went up for auction, and the debts that he himself has accrued. The man reacts violently, takes an electrician’s wire, or a cord, and strangles his mother in the kitchen.

The killer throws the hammer into a well in the garden and goes back to sleep upstairs where his 18 year old son is sleeping who doesn’t notice anything.

In the morning at around 8, Luca accompanies his son to school for credit recovery courses in Pesaro. Then he returns to Fano, to via Fanella 127, and at around 8.30 he raises the alarm to the police, saying that his parents are not responding and the door is locked from the inside. The firefighters arrive and find the two lifeless bodies. Then, after 16 hours of interrogation, Luca Ricci’s confession to the prosecutor and to the men of the flying squad and the Fano police station coordinated by the manager Paolo Badioli with the alleged murderer being transferred to prison under arrest at 3 am.
