Novara

Under house arrest to pay for his troubles with the law, he informed the police that he was going to the emergency room due to an illness but then went into a rage there, harassing the security guards, leaving without even waiting for treatment. Then, when the police arrive, he also threatens and attacks the officers. Given the violent and uncooperative attitude, we even had to resort to the taser. For the arrest which took place on the evening of 6 May in Novara, Simeon Toledo, 36 years old, living in the city and currently in prison, was sentenced yesterday directly to 10 months and 20 days in prison for resisting a public official and evading, with abbreviated procedure.

Even in court the man gave a hard time, continuing to change defense lawyers. The thirty-six-year-old had already been arrested a few weeks earlier for evasion, but then immediately released due to a technicality regarding the contested charge. The new intervention by the Volanti took place in Via Monsignor Ossola, where residents had reported a drunk man who, lying on the bonnet of a car parked in the street, was shouting incoherent and senseless phrases and threatening passers-by. It was the same person who shortly before had sought medical attention in hospital and then left in the throes of alcohol. With great difficulty the police accompanied him into the house but even there the thirty-six year old continued to cause problems: punching the wall, pushing, shouting. Hence the need to use the taser.
