Modena, 25 June 2024 – With the concert of Joan Osbornethe American singer-songwriter who became famous in the 90s with the hit “One of us”, will officially open Saturday 29 June at the Ducal Gardens the billboard of‘Modena Summer 2024. Organized by the municipal department of culture, with the support of the Modena Foundation and the Hera Group, the program (presented this morning) offers until around September 150 appointments in parks, squares, courtyards and clubs, in the historic center as in the neighborhoods: there will be 26 evenings at the Ducal Gardens, almost all with free entry.
Music, dance, cinema, reading, comedy: there will be many proposals for the Modena summer which will also see the Milanese singer-songwriter among the protagonists at the Giardini Venus (Thursday 11 July, in collaboration with Arti Vive Festival) e David Riondino with his narration of “Don Quixote”. Unmissable and always awaited, the eve of August with Beppe Zagagliawhich this year will present its new video dedicated to Modena cuisine, while on the evening of August 15th there will be a tribute to Giacomo Puccini, on the centenary of his disappearance. Also at the Giardini, on Thursday 4 July 25 young singer-songwriters will compete in the pre-final of the Pierangelo Bertoli prize, then on Monday 15 July Riccardo Benini will bring the best of the Italian Comedy Festival to the fore.

In Piazza Roma, from 15 to 17 July the three events of “Ducal Nights”: Monday 15th the trumpeter’s Devil Quartet Paolo FresuTuesday 16 the civil theater of Corrado Formigli and Stefano Massini, then Wednesday 17th Fiorella Mannoia who will celebrate his 70th birthday by singing his successes with a symphony orchestra.
At the Cortile del Melograno, in via dei Servi, the festival evenings will take place from 11 July “The Other Sound” of the Teatro Comunale of Modena, which will be opened by the actor Alessio Vassallo who will read pages of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. In summer 2024, Modena will also ‘discover’ a new space, the Cortile dell’Acero in the renovated wing of the former Estense hospital: here, curated by the Salotto Culturale Modena, musical events will be held every Wednesday (from 3 July) inspired by Marco Polo’s travels, 700 years after his death. The Modena summer will also spread to parks, green areas and sports facilities. For example, from July 20th at Amendola park some evenings will be dedicated to the great singer-songwriters, with tributes to Fabrizio De André, Ivan Graziani, Lucio Battisti and Augusto Daolio.
