On Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June, Messina will be home to the second provincial meeting of the National Bersaglieri Association, a joint celebratory event supported by the Basile Administration. The presentation press conference was held today in the hall of the Command of the Aosta Brigade in via del Vespro, in the presence of the deputy mayor and councilor for relations with the armed forces Salvatore Mondello, the councilor for Tourism Enzo Caruso, and representatives of the Association Bersaglieri National Team and the Aosta Brigade.

Deputy Mayor Mondello introduced the event, underlining the importance of promoting and enhancing the traditions of the Special Corps of the Italian Army, known for its history and activities. He also anticipated the arrival of the Bersaglieri in Messina, scheduled for the weekend, highlighting the festive atmosphere and the prestigious fanfares that will animate the city.

Councilor Caruso added that the presence of the Bersaglieri will significantly contribute to the tourist promotion of the city, underlining the importance of events of this caliber for the influx of visitors.

The gathering coincides with the centenary of the foundation of the ANB and promises to attract a large participation of Bersaglieri, supporters and the public. The activities will begin on Saturday 29 June with the gathering in Piazza Unione Europea, followed by the raising of the flag and the laying of a laurel wreath at the Monument to the Fallen of All Wars, with the participation of the Military Band of the Aosta Brigade.

On Sunday 30 June, the program includes a procession that will start from Piazza Cairoli and parade along Via Garibaldi up to Piazza Unione Europea, accompanied by the prestigious Bersaglieri Fanfare. The day will culminate with the passing ceremony of the National Centenary Banner, an event that will close the gathering before the flag is lowered at 5pm.

To commemorate the event, a stand will be set up in Piazza Unione Europea on Sunday morning, curated by the Circolo Filatelico Peloritano and Poste Italiane, with a special figured postmark and commemorative postcard available from 9:00 to 14:00.

This second provincial gathering promises to be a moment of great importance for the community, which celebrates not only the history of the Bersaglieri but also the valorization of Italian military and cultural traditions.
