The Teodorico playground, in via Pomposa, will become more inclusive and accessible to all. The council approved the executive project in recent days, worth 154,554.47 euros, for the inclusive redevelopment of the green area. The works, which will begin between September and October, will be carried out through ministerial funding for interventions on the inclusion of people with disabilities, assigned by the Emilia-Romagna Region.
The Teodorico park was created in 2002 and included an area for small children (3-5 years) and an area for older children (up to 12 years); the project at the time did not take into consideration issues related to disability and furthermore after 20 years many games have significant degradation problems and need to be replaced.
These two factors have determined the need for a strong redevelopment of the play area both to replace the equipment that is no longer adequate and to allow all children to use the playground by inserting equipment that also allows children with motor disabilities to use it. , sensory or cognitive.

The inclusive redevelopment of the Teodorico park will allow all children who frequent it to actively participate in the game, to progress at their own pace and to carry out recreational and motor activities safely”.
The intervention involves the insertion of 8 play equipment, each with the possibility of satisfying one or more types of disabilities. Specifically, a multiple revolving swing (like flying seats) will be inserted, also suitable for those who have sensory problems; a climbing structure, which provides various degrees of difficulty and which can be useful for hearing, visual and cognitive disabilities; an elastic trampoline, also suitable for children with motor disabilities as it will be installed at ground level; a multifunctional game with multi-height towers, play table, swinging seat, wide slide, sound panel and porthole, telescope and ladder with easy access that allows many children to play at the same time; a girospeed type mobile, with handles and wide seats; the village of houses accessible to all children and finally two swings: one with a basket and one with an accessible seat and safety lock.
Furthermore, all play structures will be equipped with anti-trauma cast rubber flooring to better protect children.
