The 38-year-old accused of sexual harassment against 7 young girls was sentenced to 4 years and six months in prison. The man approached the girls on board a bus from Castiglion Fibocchi to Arezzo. They were all teenagers who went to school in the morning.
Today the judge for the preliminary hearing Stefano Cascone pronounced the verdict: the man was granted the mitigating circumstance of the slight amount of harassment, but the sentence was still a blow.
The story dates back to the months of December 2023 and January 2024 and emerged thanks to the complaint of a 16-year-old, which was then followed by other complaints from other young people, all under 18, represented in the courtroom by the lawyers Stefano Buricchi, Carlo Buricchi, Laura Peruzzi, Tommaso Acuti and Federica Valeriani. The accused was assisted by the lawyer Tommaso Ceccarini.
The 38-year-old foreigner always used the same tactic: he sat next to a girl who occupied a seat near the window, thus limiting her possibility of movement. He then placed a jacket on her knees and groped the girl’s legs with one hand. The very young girls had no escape routes and the journey from home to school became a nightmare. Following the complaint, investigations began by the police who, in civilian clothes, began stalking the man. They boarded the buses at the times and days indicated by the girl and in a short time they managed to identify the 38-year-old who was eventually stopped at the terminus of the extra-urban bus line.
The accusation made against the man was that of sexual assault. Prosecutor Laura Taddei had asked for a sentence of 5 years and 4 months (abbreviated). The judge accepted the mitigating factor of the slight gravity of the gesture. The man will also have to reimburse the legal costs: 1800 euros for each girl.
