Rome, 25 June. (askanews) – Correctly managing the path of large rivers, which represent important ecosystems suitable for guaranteeing agricultural production, is a current issue of particular interest for the sector and the entire economy of the country.
Confagricoltura organizes on Wednesday 26 June in Rome, at Palazzo della Valle, at 10 am, the conference “A POSSIBLE future – The management of large rivers: the experiences of the Po and the Rhone”, an in-depth analysis and discussion also in relation to the implementation of specific measures contained in the PNRR and based on the objectives set by the European Union aimed at improving the state of waters and protecting biodiversity. Matteo Salvini, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, will conclude the work.
Regarding the Rhone river, a French delegation from the company that manages the waterway will illustrate how the different needs and multiple uses of the water have been safeguarded, overcoming management critical issues.
After the introduction to the proceedings by Massimiliano Giansanti, president of Confagricoltura, greetings from Vannia Gava, deputy minister of the Environment and energy security, Alberto Lasagna, director of Confagricoltura Pavia, will speak; Eric Divet, water resources director of the Compagnia Nazionale Rhone delegation; Andrea Colombo, manager of the Technical Area and Technical Sector of the Po River District Authority; Gianluca Zanichelli, director of AIPO; Fabio Boccalari, president of the Italian Poplar Growers Association; Tania Tellini, water sector director of Utilitalia; Nicola Dell’Acqua, Extraordinary National Commissioner for the adoption of urgent interventions related to the phenomenon of water scarcity; Enrico Allasia, president of Confagricoltura Piemonte.
