GODDAMN. The rain didn’t stop “Prey without Borders”, the Games without Borders of Predaia organized by the committee “PreGio Events” in the context of “Middle Earth” Local Youth Planwhich again this year achieved great success in terms of participation and fun among the young people of the Predaia Plateau.
Sunday 23 Junea tournament took place in the Torre di Coredo park in which sharing, friendship and a healthy spirit of competition represented the common thread of the event.
The 12 teams of the different fractions (Coredo, Mollaro, Priò, Segno, Sfruz, Smarano orange, Smarano Rossa, Taio black, Taio blue, Tres green, Tres azzurra and Vervò) faced each other and battled in fun skill tests, relays and fun circuits, competing to win the coveted “Palio della Predaia”.
Due to bad weather the games only started in the afternoon with the “Water Volley”, a fun “wet” variant of the classic volleyball, the “Relay”, a fun obstacle course to be completed in the shortest possible time, the “Tug of War ” and “Basket shooting”.
The team from Tres verde triumphed in this 6th edition, scoring 1,070 points, ahead of Mollaro (900 points), who came second, and Taio nera, third with 830 points in the final ranking.
At the foot of the podium was Vervò with 760 points, followed by Coredo and Taio blu (700), Priò (690), Tres az-zurra (670), Segno (620), Smarano orange (550), Sfruz (540) and red Smarano (490).
The Tres team will thus be able to engrave their name on the trophy, alongside those of the previous winners: Vervò (2017), Vervò (2018), Priò (2019), Mollaro (2022) and Vervò (2023).
At the end of the challenges, and after the institutional greetings from the deputy mayor of Predaia Gualtiero Walter Rizzardi and the councilor for youth policies as well as institutional contact for the “Terra di Mezzo” Youth Plan Ilaria Magnaniwho congratulated the organizing committee and all those who made the event possible, the winning team went on stage for the award ceremony and the assignment of the “Palio della Predaia”, recognition created by the local artist Gianni Mascotti.
For its part, “PreGio Eventi”, through the words of president Andrea Preti, wanted to thank the participants and the many actors involved who contributed to the success of the initiative: the various young groups of the Predaia Plateau, the Youth Plan of “Terra di Mezzo” area, the judges, the Municipalities of Predaia and Sfruz, the Cassa Rurale Val di Non-Rotaliana and Giovo.
Parco alla Torre then served as the setting for the Open Air Music Festival, with many young people from the area who enlivened the party until late at night.
