The Carabinieri of the Cerignola Company, as part of the services aimed at combating predatory robberies and phenomena connected to car thefts, have arrested a total of 7 people in recent days, accused in various capacities of receiving stolen goods and money laundering.
Specifically, the soldiers of the Carabinieri carried out a precautionary custody order in prison, issued by the investigating judge at the Court of Foggia at the request of the Dauna Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of receiving stolen goods and resisting a public official, against 3 suspects who last April, intercepted by the police on board a car stolen the previous day in Canosa, they attempted to escape, but were blocked after a daring chase through the streets of the city center of Cerignola.
A few days later, again in Cerignola, the carabinieri attempted to check the driver of a stolen car in Ancona, who also in this case did not stop when ordered to stop, trying to get away with dangerous maneuvers, which they would have jeopardized the safety of some passers-by and the Carabinieri. The man, promptly arrested, was arrested in flagrante delicto and placed under house arrest at his home.
The soldiers of the Cerignola Company, during an observation service carried out together with the carabinieri of the Puglia Helicopter Hunters Squadron in a rural area, near an area where car carcasses had been illicitly abandoned, at the first light of dawn surprised further three people intent on reassembling components and pieces of a stolen vehicle. The three suspects, after a vain attempt to escape, were blocked by the police, who arrested them in flagrante delicto and taken them to the Foggia district house on charges of money laundering.
