ALEXANDRIA – “Passage of the Bell” And entry of four new members into the Alessandria Host Lions Club which, in the new financial year 2024/25, celebrates the 70th anniversary.
Lthe current president, Alan Vicino, will give way to Virginia Viola, which it was elected by the members’ assembly and will officially enter in office on July 1st.
Great satisfaction was expressed for the new members who are all very young, Three of which coming from the Leo Club Alessandria: Giuditta Cantello, Marco Morando, Luca Siri. The fourth partner is Edoardo Bunone, former Leo, already a member of the LC Genova Host who moved to Piedmont and asked to join the LC Alessandria Host.
New entries also in the Leo Club Alessandria Where Martina Romeo And Lorenzo Novelli, they will join the next one president Federica Rolando and the other young members.
During the evening, president Alan Vicino presented the report of a year of activity which ended last Saturday with the inauguration of the two Inclusive Play Parks that the Lions donated to the city of Alessandria, thanks also to the fundamental intervention of the Foundation International Lions which doubled the amount of 46 thousand euros collected by the Alessandria clubs and thanked by the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation. The two parks are inside the public gardens of Viale della Repubblica and Parco Oreste Villa, in the Pista district. The idea was born from a project by the past president of the LC Alessandria Host, Marcello Canestri which involved the Lions clubs of Alessandria and was carried out over two years of intense lionistic activity.
Among the numerous services completed, projects for young people were highlighted: Autism and digital technologies, Posters for Peace, Let’s interconnect, but with the mind, Financial Education, Gardens at School, environmental protection courses with the CAI , the concert of the students of the “Vivaldi” Conservatory who were awarded some scholarships. For the community: the Health Village in Piazza Garibaldi, the Food Collection in Esselunga, vision and diabetes screenings and many others.
A year full of initiatives in favor of the community as a prelude to the services that will be presented for the next financial year.
