UPDATE AT 4.30PM – Some waterways have seen the first alert threshold, the yellow one, exceeded after the intense rainfall that hit our Apennines and where it continues to rain locally. The yellow threshold was exceeded for Ronco a Santa Sofia with a peak of 1.03 m. Yellow threshold again for Ronco a Meldola with 0.85 m. Yellow threshold for Marzeno in Modigliana with 0.71 m.

Intense rain and thunderstorms continue to flow from the South East to the North West, over the Romagna Apennines area, generating serious critical issues. Flooding, runoff and mudslides occurred in Rocca San Casciano, Modigliana and Tredozio.

This morning, the Montone river in Rocca San Casciano had reached the orange alert threshold with 0.8 metres, then dropped to 0.59 m. Some residents have reported traffic problems along the SP20 between Modigliana and Tredozio.

“Widespread phenomena of runoff, landslides on fragile slopes and rapid rises in hydrometric levels in watercourses are possible in correspondence with heavy rainfall, with possible occupation of the expansion zones of mountain watercourses in the central sector of the region – recalling the Civil Protection, which yesterday issued a weather warning, recommending maximum attention.

The greatest accumulations of rain from midnight to 2.25pm ​​today, 24 June: in Tredozio 146mm, in Campigna 140mm, in Civitella di Romagna 110mm, at Passo della Calla FC 99mm.
