The 29th edition of the international Gulf of Asinara Rally was presented in Sassari
Presented in Sassari on the 29th International Rally Gulf of Asinara of 29-30 June, organized byAutomobile Club Sassari. The asphalt rally, which includes 73.50 timed kilometers divided into 5 special stages to be repeated twice, will be valid as the second round of the Aci Sport Zone 10 Rally Cup and the Regional Championship.
Registrations, which will close at midnight today, between modern and historical rallies have already exceeded 70 crewsincluding the best Sardinian “asphalt workers” and the highly rated Molise Giuseppe Testawinner of the 2023 Rally Cup. The event born in 1979, and revived with conviction by the Automobile Club Sassari in 2022, this year will include a shakedown, service park and headquarters in Sassarideparture from Porto TorresI arrive at Castelsardo and closing of the first day, Saturday evening in the Piazzale della Pace di Algheroin conjunction with Birralguercraft beer festival.
The president of the Aci
“The race, well rooted in the territory, has reached its third re-edition entirely on asphalt – declares the president of Ac Sassari and Aci Sport Spa, Giulio Pes of San Vittorio -. The project started three years ago with the mayors of the Northern Sardinia metropolitan network envisaged a rotation of the cities alternating the main moments of the rally – departure, arrival of the stage, assistance and final arrival – and this rotation allows the various cities involved to enjoy, in the year, of a different moment. And I believe this is one of the secrets of the event’s success. The support of the Sardinia Region, all the municipalities and the sponsors guarantees a great show and success in terms of the public. The race is growing, year after year we welcome a greater number of participants, we want to continue to give emotions to athletes and motorsport lovers and we have presented our candidacy to host, in 2025, the national final of the Italian Cup, a rally in which the over 200 finalist crews who qualify in the ten different zones of the Rally Cup participate”.
