The surname Pierozzi, in Palermo, is not remembered for having left particularly exciting signs. Edoardo Pierozzi arrived in the rosanero in the summer of 2022, at the hands of the then sporting director Renzo Castagnini (destined to leave shortly after, following Silvio Baldini). Due to a feeling that never arose with Eugenio Corini, however, he was never able to find a place in that team, ending up appearing for a few minutes at the start of the championship, before the separation which took place in January.
In that same season, his twin Niccolò, owned by Fiorentina, was the protagonist of an extremely positive season with the Reggina shirt, appearing as one of the most interesting young Italians in the cadet championship. In the season just ended, after a few months without appearances in Florence, Pierozzi had the opportunity to make his debut in Serie A, thanks to the loan to Salernitana, but now, having returned to base and with very few prospects of confirmation in Tuscany, the streets of Palermo and the Pierozzi could cross paths again
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, in fact, the boy is on the fringes of the Viola project, closed by Kayode and Dodo, and is looking for a solution that can allow him to find space continuously. The 2001 class plays the role of right back, is equipped with speed and offensive propensity (4 goals in Reggio Calabria), and Palermo’s interest arises from the prospect of creating a pair of low flankers on the right lane, who can compete for the place.
The negotiation, however, does not seem easy, because some lower Serie A clubs have already set their sights on the defender, who could use their militancy in a higher category as a valid argument to convince the boy to embrace their cause.
