Hello Grosseto presented the balance sheet, including objectives achieved and challenges still open. 2023 was a complex year, marked by lights and shadows in both the political and economic spheres. Despite the difficulties, the Italian Farmers Confederation of Grosseto achieved significant results, illustrated in detail during the Provincial Board of Directors. A moment of reflection.

By intervening, Claudio Capecchi, president of Cia Grossetodeclared: “We have achieved satisfactory results thanks to the support of our members who, despite facing very complicated moments, have used and paid for our services, strengthening our representation and political action, and thanks to Cia employees and officials, each of who are committed to doing their part. This heartens and encourages us.”

The presents. The annual budget was illustrated by Enrico Rabazzi, director of the Grosseto Confederationin the presence of members, of national director of CIA, Maurizio Scaccia, of the president of Cia Toscana, Valentino Bernihe was born in director Giordano Pascucci.

“In the year just ended, as a Confederation, we participated in events of great interest, including the CIA National Economic Conference held in the capital in February and the street demonstration on 26 October, also in Rome,” Capecchi said. “It was precisely during this last event that we strongly drew the attention of politicians to the crucial issues for our sector, such as the income crisis of agricultural companies, the weight of bureaucracy and the complexity of the Community Agricultural Policy which is too oriented towards environmental sustainability while neglecting ethical and above all economic aspects which are essential if we want the sector to survive.”

The CIA demonstration in October therefore raised the numerous and complex problems of the agricultural world, asking for attention and answers regarding the difficult crisis in the sector. An incisive cry of alarm which was, shortly after, taken up by the “tractor mobilization,” which, in fact, claimed responsibility for the same problems raised by the CIA. “While we recognize that this protest was massive,” Capecchi underlined“we believe that it had two limitations: it acted autonomously, further fragmenting trade union representatives, and it created confusion about responsibilities, often attributed only to community politics. On the contrary, many solutions can also be adopted at national and regional level. “

On the sidelines of the presentation of the budget, during the discussion between those present, it clearly emerged that the sectors in crisis outnumber those with positive prospects. The president thus underlined the need for solutions to guarantee fair margins for agricultural companies, a coherent policy on the use of land and water to tackle the climate crisis, a less bureaucratic CAP, effective management of wildlife, a balance along the agricultural supply chain, urgent interventions against animal diseases and policies favorable to generational turnover.

“We are living in complicated times and with an uncertain future, however we can be satisfied with our activities and the commitment made, repaid by the trust of the members,” concluded Capecchthe. “Our objective remains to respond to the actual needs of farmers, reminding politicians, at all levels, of the true needs of the agricultural sector so that the paths are coherent and aimed at supporting the sector in an effective and lasting way.”
