Bad weather, Abi suspends mortgage installments for families affected by environmental disasters in the provinces of Venice, Belluno and Treviso. Aid is arriving from the banks for families affected by the environmental disasters of autumn 2023, when Veneto was hit by a wave of bad weather. L’Abi (Italian Banking Association) has just issued a circular letter to its members in which it reports that an ordinance has been published on the website of the civil protection department with which a measure has been adopted to suspend the payment of mortgage instalments, as a consequence of the exceptional meteorological events that occurred in the days from 30 October 2023 to 5 November 2023 in the territory of the province of BellunoOf Treviso and of Venice.

«This Ordinance – informs a note – currently being published in the Official Journal, incorporates the contents of the agreement signed by Abi and consumer associations to ensure timely interventions in favor of populations affected by natural disasters. With the publication in the Official Journal it will be possible for the banks to follow up on the ABI’s request to immediately implement the suspension of mortgages for this territory”.
