Aversa starts again from Matacena

Aversa has a new mayor: Franco Matacena.

A very long and exhausting electoral campaign that began on the day of the fall of the Goliath Administration ended today.

Ballot round between Franco Matacena supported by seven civic-inspired lists against Antonio Farinaro supported by the counter-right: 8466 votes (57%) for Matacena and 6204 (42%) for Farinaro.

What does the analysis of these elections tell us?

The first thing is that whoever betrays the Aversano people is then severely punished in the secrecy of the urn.

The various ‘We Believe’, guilty of having personified the worst administration of the Republican era, have dissolved like snow in the sun. Only shreds of them remain and a poor representation in the City Council.

Baldascino paid for something that wasn’t his fault. He shouldered a bloated responsibility for the mistakes of the Goliath junta. Furthermore, an internal quarrel has emerged on the left worthy of the best Turkish soap operas.

The people of Aversa no longer believed those who promised them to change Aversa. In fact the city had been changed but certainly for the worse compared to the previous one hundred right administrations.

For years we have heard the litany that the city’s problems were the legacy of previous administrations.

An almost annoying chant that didn’t have an impact on the Aversani. I don’t know if Alfonso Golia was aware that that assignment given to Sogert (we know how it went with seizures on bank accounts and salaries) could then determine the end of the Aversa left. Just as I have never understood whether the left was aware that many choices were highly divisive.

And so those ‘I believe it’ banners then became rags to be used for cleaning.

The defeat of Antonio Farinaro (in my opinion) has the only justification in the back and forth with Oliva. Oliva gave up on running for Mayor, splitting the Brothers of Italy but bringing the majority of votes in support of Matacena. This caused the undecideds – in turn – to side with the President of the Order of Accountants.

But the results of the polls were loud and clear. Aversa wanted Matacena Mayor from the first round. The distance in votes between Matacena and Farinaro is too great.

And so Aversa starts again from Matacena. It starts again after a political/social/administrative stasis that was about to turn into metastasis. Matacena inherits a city in disarray. He must rebuild from the rubble.

Matacena made an impression on the Aversani because he spoke about things that impressed the Aversani.
First of all, culture.

Aversa has “oil” under its feet and it seems that no one has ever noticed. Culture in Aversa can easily be transformed into bread.

Few cities in Campania can boast the thousand-year history that Aversa has. If Procida was the capital of culture, why couldn’t Aversa be? Someone said that culture cannot be eaten. Instead, culture is eaten and how!

Matacena has always talked about city parks. Very sad note. Of all the parks, only Parco Pozzi is open.

The park that was mocked by half of Italy for the fact that the bathrooms open from 6pm.

Therefore Matecena has the possibility of becoming the ‘Josi Della Ragione’ of Aversa. She has all it takes to become one. She depends only on him.

But he also said that he listens to everyone but always decides with his head. This was in response to those who called him ‘Mondragonese’, that is, a disciple of Zannini.

I’m sure he will be like this, that he will always decide with his head, without influences and interference.

Now the key to success is only in the hands of Matacena. The people of Aversa are not asking for the moon but only for a more livable city.
