WEDGE NEWS – The province of Cuneo contains a complex heritage of cultural assets: churches, chapels, fortifications, castles, historic buildings and archaeological sites that represent the roots of our history. Since 2016, the Crc Foundation has traced a path to preserve this heritage through support for restoration and conservation interventions, but also enhancement, with the dual objective of safeguarding the beauty of the places but also of giving new life to the spaces through the involvement of the communities , the dissemination of knowledge and tourism promotion.

The volume Manifesta Bellezza, created with the scientific collaboration of the Polytechnic of Turin, Inter-University Department of Territorial Sciences, Projects and Policies, provides a prospective rereading of the interventions supported. Among these, the restoration of the external part of the Sanctuary of Monserrato.

For the occasion, an extraordinary opening weekend has been planned (29 and 30 June) of the cultural assets selected within the volume as they are highly representative of the path of protection, restoration and valorization promoted in recent years in the province of Cuneo.

On Sunday 30 June the Monserrato Sanctuary association will propose a guided tour starting at 4.30 pm led by Ilaria Peano. On the occasion of Manifesta Bellezza the guided tour will be free. I meet up a few minutes earlier in the churchyard of the Sanctuary.

At 6 pm literary reading by Donatella Signetti and Ric Meynardi: we will discover Matteo Bussola’s novel, The invention of us two (Einaudi 2020 and 2022).

Furthermore, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June MEMO4345 will offer guided tours of the multimedia route dedicated to the Shoah (90 minutes) starting in the morning at 10.30 am, in the afternoon at 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm. Limited places, booking recommended (0171 266080 – [email protected]).

On the occasion of Manifesta Bellezza, a reduced ticket (3 euros) will be guaranteed for each participant in the guided tours; free for children under 6 years of age, visitors with disabilities and their companions, holders of the Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta Museum Pass card. I meet up a few minutes earlier at the entrance to the former church of Sant’Anna, next to the Deportation Memorial, Borgo San Dalmazzo railway station.
