ROME. The minors arrested in Pescara for the murder of a 17-year-old are the son of a lawyer and the son of a marshal commander of a local station in a municipality in the province of Pescara. They are looking for the murder weapon, presumably a diving knife, which has not yet been found.

The murder took place last night in Baden Powell Park, not far from the station. The crime would have occurred in the context of small-time dealing.

Meanwhile, it has become known that the victim is Thomas Christopher Luciani, aged 17, resident in Rosciano, a small village in the Pescarese area.

The two alleged murderers are high school students from good families, socially integrated.

From sources close to the Court it emerges that at the basis of the crime there would be a probable debt of “narcotics used by children of that age” that the two would have owed to the victim for previous sales: we are talking about around 250 euros.

There was a group of seven or eight people, two of whom went into action to commit the crime. The victim, according to initial information, was hit by around 25 stab wounds. The two continued to hit him even when the young man was already lifeless on the ground. It is not clear at the moment whether the two minors went into action with the intent to kill or whether it was a fight that ended badly.

The group of boys reached the park. Then two of them came in and met the 17-year-old. Having reached an unguarded area, they hit him repeatedly. After abandoning him in the weeds, they moved away.

The group then went to the seaside, to a beach establishment in the centre, and took a bath. There, according to the testimonies collected, the knife was abandoned. The weapon has not been found at the moment and searches by fire brigade divers continue.

The social context is defined as “fundamentally of apparently normal people”. which distinguishes both the victim and the two alleged murderers, a year younger, all three Italian citizens. This is what emerges from sources close to the Juvenile Court of L’Aquila.

The two boys arrested for the murder did not betray emotions during the first interrogation: at the moment there were no particular reactions, essentially there was an absence of emotional empathy or repentance, this at the moment, in the next few days we will see if determining this state is the shock and there will be emotional changes. We learn this from investigative sources.

The investigations have been coordinated since yesterday evening by the head of the L’Aquila Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, David Mancini, and by the deputy Angela D’Egidio, who yesterday carried out an inspection in the area where the murder took place.

The two boys are in custody in a first reception centre: the validation hearing will take place within four days. (HANDLE)
