“Chill Pills”, a cycle tourism workshop born from the fervent experience of Ciclofficina Pignone, is pleased to announce an event dedicated to two-wheel lovers and people who wish to explore the world of cycle tourism. The initiative is completely free and welcomes pedal enthusiasts of all experience levels. The laboratory is promoted by the Municipality of Piacenza, in collaboration with Spazio4.0, and created thanks to the contribution of the Emilia-Romagna Region – L.14/08.
The initiative, which will be held on Saturday 29 June at Spazio 4.0 in via Alessandro Manzoni n.21 in Piacenza, is divided into two essential phases. The first phase includes information sessions and debates, while the second phase will take the adventurous participants on a two-day and one-night journey along the Po River, with an overnight stay in a welcoming campsite along the way, in Cremona.
The workshop is designed for those who wish to have their first bicycle travel experience, as well as for expert cycle tourists looking for company and new adventures. Available places are limited to 8, therefore timely registration is recommended, using the registration form found on the Ciclofficina Pignone Instagram or Facebook page.
The workshop program is varied and engaging:
Saturday 29 June:
2.00pm – Presentation and tips on cycle mechanics for the journey, organized by the volunteers of Ciclofficina Pignone.
3.00pm – Talk with Angelo Nani, president of Fiab Piacenza, about the Eurovelo and the cycle routes that cross Piacenza.
4.00pm – Break.
4.30pm – Travel stories: the Piacenza cycling tourists “Cicliste del Sasso” will share their experiences and advice on how to plan a cycling tour.
5.15pm – Discussion and preparations for the trip on the Po.
Saturday 06 July:
Departure at 2.00 pm from Spazio 4.0, via Alessandro Manzoni n.21, Piacenza.
Arrival in Cremona in the evening, check-in at the campsite and tour of the city.
For those who do not intend to stay overnight, there is the possibility of returning by train before the evening.
Sunday 07 July:
Departure at 10.00 from the campsite.
Return to Piacenza scheduled for the afternoon.
Participation in both phases is not mandatory, but highly recommended to take full advantage of the experience.
