Brindisi’s journey starts again from a new category, Serie D, and from a new ownership. After weeks of uncertainty, on the morning of Monday 24 June the white and blue club passed from the hands of the Arigliano family to a consortium of entrepreneurs with headquarters in Rome. The sale, which took place in a notary’s office in the capital, led to Giuseppe Roma becoming president of the club. “The Arigliano family, who led the club in past years, is thanked for their contribution, from today they are strangers to the new corporate structure” explains a note. “The new ownership is fully aware of the challenges that the transition entails, but is determined to firmly pursue the objectives set.” On the agenda there are first of all the requirements to be completed to complete the registration for the next Serie D championship, a dimension that Brindisi finds again after only one year among the professionals, which ended with an almost announced relegation and with many technical, tactical and off the field.

The deadline to produce the documentation and pay the necessary fees is July 14th. At the same time, the new ownership will be called upon to work to plan the sports season, from the technical staff to the players in the squad. The certainty behind the project, designed to regain the trust of the city and the fans, was identified in Andrea Gianni, former sporting director of Lamezia Terme, who would play the same role in the blue and white club. Filippo Marra Cutrupi, in his latest experience general secretary of Alessandria, could also be part of the organization chart of the future. For the bench, among the leads already explored there is one that strengthens the link with Rome: Tommaso Rocchi, currently coach of the youth sector of Lazio, a club for which he played for nine seasons, scoring 105 goals in a career which also included the shirts of Empoli and Inter. For the former striker, originally from Venice, it would be the first experience as coach of a first team.
