Thus in a note Ambner de Iapinis, former administrator of Benevento and president of the Benevento Green City Movement who for months fought against the cutting of pine trees, replies to the former Environment Councilor who last night had commented on the acquittal sentence for a manager and a technician of the Municipality of Benevento at the end of the trial regarding the felling of 12 trees in recent years in the upper area of the city.
“Only those who were born and lived in this city and love it can understand – remarks De Iapinis -. No, the city, the Struggle Movements and the Public Prosecutor’s Office have won, because the massacre of all the trees, foreseen by the resolution that decreed their felling, was blocked at birth, thus saving the beauty of Viale degli Atlantici, the flora, the fauna and the oxygen of the entire upper part of Benevento. The Struggle Movements would, however, be ready to start again for any confrontation, in defense and for the protection of our territory. The city understood and has understood”.
