Multi-year contract also for Bezzecchi, who leaves Ducati with the aim of becoming a finished top rider in MotoGP.

In recent weeks the news in question has been chased around waiting only for an official statement, which did not take long to arrive. Marco Bezzecchi, current Ducati rider in the VR46 Pertamina Enduro team, will replace Maverick Viñales in the Aprilia Racing garage starting from the 2025 MotoGP season, thus joining his former Moto3 rival Jorge Martín.

A long-predicted marriage between “Bez” and the Noale manufacturer: the talent of the Rimini native and Aprilia’s interest in having an Italian rider among its ranks were the main elements that convinced the Venetian brand to negotiate with #72, which in turn will benefit from factory treatment in MotoGP for the first time.

These are the words of Massimo Rivola, the CEO: “We welcome one of the best Italian talents, who has demonstrated his worth since his debut in the minor categories and, especially last year in MotoGP, with excellent performances and even breakaway victories. We can’t wait to also embrace “Bez” in Noale; the Italian motorbike-Italian rider combination is very fascinating, but even more so is the pair of riders that will form with Jorge. We are really satisfied with our line up for 2025, Martín and Bezzecchi represented our first choices in terms of age, talent, grit and determination and with them we can write a new and important page for Aprilia Racing.”

The seat of Valentino Rossi’s team remains empty, which at this point could see Franco Morbidelli’s move from the Pramac team to the fluorescent yellow garage. Aprilia, for its part, still has decisions to make in the rider market, given the uncertainty surrounding the positions of Raúl Fernández and Miguel Oliveira in the Trackhouse team, with Joe Roberts as the first candidate for a debut in Justin Marks’ team.
