Antonino Maggisano from Lamezia wins the 16th Pollino Brigands Trophy

Lamezia Terme – The 16th Trofeo dei Briganti del Pollino took place on Sunday in San Severino Lucano, organized by Atletica Correre Pollino, valid as the 2nd stage of the Corripollino Triptych and the 3rd round of the Lucania Run Circuit.

After last year’s victory which saw the athlete from San Pietre Antonino Maggisano of Libertas Lamezia win the title of Italian champion, master A, of short trail on a 30 km route, this year the route has been reduced to 12.7 km of asphalt road, dirt road and paths immersed in the heart of the Pollino National Park. You go from an altitude of approximately 813 meters above sea level to 1202, for a total height difference of 389 metres. The race saw around 250 athletes at the starting line and the Libertas Lamezia athlete crossed the finish line with a final sprint, closing the race at 51:32, two seconds before Vincenzo Agata and closing the podium was Egidio Lo Vaglio with 53: 28. Now the last stage of the Corripollino Triptych which will be on July 14th for the 7th Trail of the Pollino National Park.
