Eight people reported on the loose, nine licenses revoked and three vehicles confiscated. These are just some of the numbers of checks carried out on Sunday night by the Traffic Police personnel of the Olbia and Tempio Pausania Detachment.
The patrols engaged in the city of Olbia, as it was affected by the Italian stage of the Aquabike World Championship and which attracted a notable number of people who came not only from Sardinia but from all over Italy, made use of the collaboration of the Mobile Laboratory staff to ascertain on the road the state of psychophysical alteration due to drug use through second-level analyzes of road users stopped and subjected to checks.
Specifically, out of 78 people checked, seven drivers were driving under the influence of narcotic or psychotropic substances. Eight people were reported free and one was sanctioned for an administrative offence. Nine driving licenses were withdrawn, three vehicles confiscated, three registration certificates withdrawn and 100 points deducted. A particular episode mentioned by the Police concerns a young 18-year-old from Sassari, who has had a driving license for three months, reported for being under the influence of cannabinoids.
