Victory for Italy Underdogs at the FIMBA European Championship

Also good second place for Italy Underdogs Over 45 at the FIMBA European Championship in Pesaro 2024. Coach Valli’s Azzurri beat Great Britain Maxibasketball 74-63 (26-09, 16-18, 21-19, 11-17) , expertly managing the entire match. The Azzurri started off strong, demonstrating that they had control of the pitch, reaching a maximum lead of 20 points. Despite GB Maxibasketball’s fierce resistance, Italia Underdogs maintained their lead throughout the match. In the second period GB Maxibasketball tried to reduce the gap, but the Azzurri managed to manage the moment, with a good game. (42-27 at halftime). In the third period the Underdogs extended their lead further thanks to a 15-4 run that brought the score to 63-46. The fourth half began with the English team taking on a single-digit deficit, but a couple of crucial actions by Valerio Corvino and Simone Rona definitively extinguished their opponents’ hopes.
