The Musica Antiqua choir and the FAI delegation from Terni, led by Emiliano Proietti Cerquoni, together once again to offer an evening of art and music. After last year’s event, hosted in the courtyard of Palazzo Alberici with a full house – this time the collaboration between delegation and choir proposes a concert in the small, recently restored church of Sant’Alò for Thursday 27 June, at 9pm.

«The FAI delegation from Terni will open the evening – reports a note from the association – offering a story of the ancient church, generally remembered for the lions that decorate the entrance steps: it is a characteristic that distinguishes it among all, together with an equally evocative interior. The Terni delegation has been operating in the city and its surroundings for a good twenty years: in addition to the national days of the Italian Environment Fund, it offers further meeting opportunities throughout the year, not only to enhance the historical and environmental heritage of the area , but also for cultural meetings of various kinds. After the visit, Musica Antiqua will perform pieces from its repertoire, inspired by spiritual love and courtly love.”

«The Musica Antiqua choir was born over 35 years ago and since 1995 it has been directed by maestro Stefania Trabalza. Despite his peculiar madrigal style, he has participated in numerous prestigious events, in large symphonic and operatic productions, with both national and foreign performances. Musica Antiqua is characterized by singing madrigals, a profane polyphonic musical genre born in the Renaissance era, whose lyrics above all describe emotions and feelings of courtly love, expressed in a poetic but often light-hearted way. In the vast repertoire, performed for four voices a cappella, there are also numerous sacred pieces and compositions by more recent authors, selected from those who have a polyphonic composition, sung without instrumentation according to the distinctive trait of this vocal ensemble”.
