Fiumicino, 29 June 2024 – The Carabinieri of the Rome Airports Company, at the “Leonardo Da Vinci” airport, have one person arrested, 4 other people reported for attempted theft and 4 NCC drivers fined while they were procuring customers among the passengers.

Specifically, 4 NCC drivers were fined by the Carabinieri of the Fiumicino Airport Station, caught near the Terminal 3 arrivals, while they illegally procured customers among passengers in transit, outside the stalls, without having the right to do so, for a total amount of approximately 8,800 euros. Further checks revealed that they also lacked the documentation certifying the request for professional services, for this reason they were also notified of the order to leave for 48 hours and were also fined a further amount of 100 euros.

Shortly afterwards, however, the Carabinieri of the Fiumicino Airport Station, in separate activities, had One person was arrested and four others were reported, because they tried to bypass the duty free checkouts located inside the airport without paying, while they were waiting for their respective flights. The military found several perfumery and cosmetic products, worth approximately 6,200 euros. The travelers were noticed by the security staff who immediately alerted the Carabinieri, thus managing to recover the stolen goods and return them to the managers of the commercial establishments. All were reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Civitavecchia for the crime of attempted theft, while one person was handcuffed because he was seriously suspected of the crime of theft.
