The ‘Diocesan Children’s Summer Festival’ arrives in Foggia

The first ‘Diocesan Children’s Summer Festival – coloriaAMO la città’ will take place on Thursday 27 June in via Lanza and piazza Umberto Giordano. The event in the square will start at 5pm with a moment of entertainment, games at stands, urban games and will close at 8.30pm with the speech of Msgr. Giorgio Ferretti and a flash mob.

The initiative, promoted by the Archbishop of Foggia-Bovino mons. Giorgio Ferretti, is organized by the diocesan Youth Ministry Service together with the Salesians for Social Affairs as part of the Oratory Protocol signed between the Region and the Dioceses of Puglia.

The aim is to bring together all the entities involved in the summer Grest in one big party which sees children, teenagers, very young people and young people as the absolute protagonists. For years now, children’s summer has been a tradition that attracts over eight thousand children and teenagers in the diocese and a thousand very young people in the various parishes.

The underlying theme of the initiative – we read in a note – will be legality that becomes a common desire to be raised as an anthem and a cry of hope for the present and future of our city which wants to return to wearing the colors of love, peace, responsibility and cooperation. Children and young people themselves become witnesses of this need. It is from them that the change starts”.
