Despite the various awareness raising and regulations, in Italy we continue to “Dying at work”.
Unacceptable deaths that should not be part of a civilized and regulated country but every day in Italy 3 workers die “for the logic of profit and widespread illegality often unpunished. The plague of gangmastering still affects many parts of Italy today, from North to South from East to West. The risk of a foreigner being the victim of a fatal accident is double that of an Italian worker. For this reason and to say enough to gangmasters, to low-cost contracts, to deaths and accidents at work, Cgil Cisl and Uil of Asti are organizing a flash mob “Be men, not gangmasters” on Wednesday 26 June in Piazza San Secondo. at 6pm to which all institutions, employers’ organizations and citizens are invited, “and all those who want to express their horror at this massacre.”
