Maxi municipal contract, appeal lodged

An appeal was presented in recent days to the TAR of Parma by a company against the decision of the Municipality of Piacenza to extend the contract for the management of the heating of the buildings owned by the institution by three years. The Tarasconi Administration had in fact decided in recent weeks to extend the awarding of the contract to the Piacenza company “Getec”, the outgoing operator, while waiting to define the details for reassigning all its most important contracts (heating, public lighting, optical fiber , traffic light management) in a single “lot” worth one hundred million euros. A match that has been defined by local politics as the “big contract”. The intention of the Tarasconi Council is to assign multiple activities to the same group, in order to create an economy of scale and save money. The three-year extension for internal heating (7 million euros) would serve to buy time while waiting to define the framework of the situation. Now, however, “Renovit” is challenging the Municipality’s decision to temporarily continue with Getec. In this dispute, the director of the legal profession Elena Vezzulli, who has had her power of attorney removed, will not defend the Municipality before the TAR of Parma. The lawyer Massimo Calcagnile of the Bologna Court will have this delicate task. A choice that costs the Municipality 5836.48 euros.
