Thursday 27 June, at 9.00 pm, in the summer area of the SOMS in Corso Acqui 158, the Cristo district of Alessandria will host the last appointment with the Theater in the street. The Teatro d’Appendix presents “Stasera cabaret… or something like that”, an evening of sketches, improvisations, memory lapses and stories without art or part, to offer entertainment to all tastes and budgets. Participation is free.
Plot of the Show
Fifty years ago, the referendum on divorce changed the face of Italian society. Thirty years ago, the famous film “Four Weddings and a Funeral” captivated audiences with its brilliant and ironic narrative. Today, the Appendix Theater brings us a comedy about modern families, entitled “Cabaret tonight… or something like that”.
The story revolves around the wedding ceremony of Brunella and Mirko. To define the details of the wedding, Brunella’s mother organizes a dinner in the luxurious villa sold by her ex-husband, a wealthy industrialist who has fallen in love with her secretary. The new partner of Brunella’s mother also moved into the villa, who in the past had had a relationship with Mirko’s mother, at the time when they both attended a community centre.
Mirko’s mother is also invited to the dinner and shows up with her new boyfriend, more interested in a football match than in the banquet. Four parents with as many partners thus find themselves discussing their children, about whom they believe they know everything. The comedy explores today’s families, the certainties that disintegrate, the widespread disinterest, the clichés to be debunked, a noisy vacuum cleaner and a roast that takes a long time to be served.
An event not to be missed
