Chavanne, Bossche, Siimann and Al-Mulla win the Sardinia Region Grand Prix of Italy – S&H Magazine

The reigning world champion Jessica Chavannethe Belgian Quinten BosscheEstonian Mattias Siimann and Rashid Al-Mulla of Team Abu Dhabi have achieved Grand Prix victories in the categories Ski Ladies GP1, Ski Division GP1, Runabout GP1 and Freestyle in difficult conditions at Sardinia Region Grand Prix of Italy in Olbia.

Third place in moto 3 behind Benedicte Drange was enough for Chavanne to win the Grand Prix over French rival Estelle Poret with Swede Emma Nellie Ortendahl completing the podium.

Quinten Bossche took his third consecutive victory in Ski Division GP1 Moto 3 to take the Sardinia GP victory ahead of Austrian rival Kevin Reiterer and Morgan Poret. The weekend’s performances from the Belgian, who has won six consecutive Motos in Vietnam and Italy, mean he will take a 24-point lead over Reiterer into the World Championship final on Lake Toba in Indonesia in November.

Swede Samuel Johansson led the latest Moto Runabout GP1 from start to finish, but it wasn’t enough to stop the impressive Estonian rider Mattias Siimann from taking the Grand Prix victory and thus finishing second. Reigning world champion François Medori of France completed the weekend’s podium.

Team Abu Dhabi’s Rashed Al-Mulla dominated the first of the Freestyle Motos with an impeccable range of back flips, barrel-rolls, transitions, spins, combinations and somersaults and the Emirati followed up his performance on Saturday night with a another impressive performance, including two nearly successful double back flips, to earn a landslide Grand Prix victory and overall lead in the World Championship. The reigning world champion Roberto Mariani took second place and Massimo Accumolo third.

After Siiman’s victory in Runabout GP1, Estonia makes a slew of titles in the minor categories that took part in the single stage of the Aquabike World Championship in Olbia: 4 out of 6 podiums went to Estonian riders: Mattias Reinass wins the title in both the Ski GP2 and Ski GP4 categories, Karl Keskula in Runabout GP4 while Mattias Siiman is the World Champion in Runabout GP2.

The Belgian Yoni Hamelin won the title in Ski GP3 while the French debutant Cyrielle Bramm is world champion in Runabout GP4 Ladies, a title that last year went to the Italian Naomi Benini who this year moved up to the SKI Ladies GP1 category
