Over 6.5 million Pnrr for the former Palaspecchi

Over 6.5 million euros for the Palaspecchi car park. This is the building behind the group of buildings already redeveloped for which a large part of the expense will be invested in the expropriation, just over 4 million euros. This was made known in a resolution dated June 18th which follows the Pug update note approved by the city council on November 11th.

The work will also concern the redevelopment of an existing building for the construction of 53 Ers (social residential housing) dwellings; the redevelopment of an area and the recovery of buildings for sporting activities; the redevelopment of the car park in via Beethoven; the redevelopment of the car park behind the buildings already redeveloping the former Palaspecchi.

The latter should change its use and become a space used for public greenery and open urban spaces while some lots should be used for connections. Concern among residents remains high as witnessed by some of these some time ago. It seems they are waiting to buy a house in the building in front of the former car park to actually understand what the project will be.

The project, which is part of a larger package for which the municipality was awarded 15 million euros, had been widely criticized by the opposition and in particular by Roberta Fusari, former councilor for urban planning during the Tagliani council and in the opposition in last council. According to the former councilor, work could have been done to obtain more funds (up to 45 million) also because “4.8 will go to Parnasi for expropriation”. Fusari had said that he did not agree “neither with the choice to operate in that context in this way, nor to use citizens’ money for works that do not address the housing emergency”.

The opposition and the former mayor Tiziano Tagliano himself then pointed out, on several occasions, that at the time there were no funds from the Pnrr and the entire operation that led to the first block of redevelopment of the area (Le corti di Medoro ) had been done at zero expense to the Municipality. Indeed, “7 million entered the municipal coffers”, Tagliani had said, 3.9 million in cash and the remainder as the sale of the building where the Local Police are now housed.

The financing is possible thanks to the Pnrr ex Pinqua funds while the final project was developed by the company of professionals and engineering companies “Leonardo European Consortium for engineering and architecture” which is based in Cagliari on behalf of the executing consortium members Tecnolav Engineering srl, Ingegneri Riuni Spa, Etacons srl, Ecds srl, Project Partners ltd consulting engineers, Studio Fcarr (agent), YUPpies’ Services srl and Studio Pagliula associated engineers and architects (principals).
