Yesterday, at the end of the direct trial against him, the judge validated the arrest and ordered his removal from Latina.
This is the decision of magistrate Roberta Brenda towards the young 30-year-old Algerian, already known in the police archives, arrested for threatening some police officers who intervened following a theft at the Latina Fiori shopping centre. The young foreigner was arrested last April after he had caused panic in the Nicolosi neighborhood of Latina on Easter Monday by damaging some cars and threatening passers-by. Yesterday defended by the lawyer Mocellin, the trial took place in the courtroom, the public prosecution had requested prison for the young man, in the end the judge gave his opinion at the end of the chamber. The defendant’s lawyer requested time off for the defense and the trial was postponed. At the end of April the accused was stopped again by the Flying Squad while he was trying to steal a car in the centre, near the central post office in Piazzale dei Bonificari. The key episode in which the foreign citizen was the protagonist took place on Easter Monday when, at the end of a real manhunt, he was arrested by the police. In the direct trial he had obtained the benefit of the suspended sentence, having had no previous convictions. The other day in a shop in the shopping center there was another episode of violence: he had stolen some items of clothing and when he was spotted he had heavily threatened a security guard and later the Flying Squad officers intervened to stop him. “I’ll cut off your heads and your children,” was what he had said. The man apparently was also the recipient of an expulsion order.
