In particular, the one on state road 16, at the intersection of via Latini and via Thaulero, is in a pitiful state.” The Democratic Party is raising the alarm and in a note highlights how the current administration, thanks to the proceeds from fines for violations recorded by the T-reds, would have the necessary resources for traffic light maintenance.
«What happened to the increased revenue? Why were they not intended for this purpose imposed by law?”, states the municipal secretary of the Dems Emanuela Ferretti, «in the height of summer the city presents itself to tourist guests without traffic lights in compliance with the Highway Code, without visible pedestrian crossings, with dry grass on the central seafront. This administration has been in power for three years and it wouldn’t surprise us to hear the reply that the broken traffic lights are the fault of the old administration. Three years after taking office, the Nugnes administration still thinks it can shift the blame for its omissions onto past administrations, but it is now an unseemly habit. No turning point and no desire to change course, since the mayor and councilors seem to live in the cult of themselves, closed in a magic circle of a few flatterers.” The traffic light situation was also discussed yesterday in the city council. During the session the majority approved a budget change which will allow, after several months, to repair the most damaged traffic light system, the one in the center on state road 16, at the intersection with via Latini and via Thaulero, and also other traffic lights, such as the one in Piazza Unità, where there is a pedestrian one tied up with tape. In the council itself the vice mayor and councilor for maintenance Angelo Marconeasked for more funds for maintenance in the area. (lv)
