Benefit concert by the vocal group Famiglia Sala, last evening of Saturday 22 June, in Como, in the parish church of San Martino a Rebbio.
Benefit concert, generous evening
An event that attracted significant participation in the parish, offering exciting moments such as the initial Ukrainian national anthem sung first in Italian and then in the Ukrainian language. Thunderous applause for the skill of the Sala family and for the 30 guests, children and teenagers, who arrived from Kharkiv, the second largest Ukrainian city, continuously bombed (even yesterday). The Ukrainian guests are accompanied in particular by Sestra Olexia, superior of the Sisters of St. Joseph and Father Andrii Nasinnyk, director of Caritas in Kharkiv.
Holiday of hope
The group is hosted by the “Frontiere di Pace” volunteer group of Villa Guardia, in collaboration with Casa Scout Don Titino, in the beautiful hut immersed in the Spina Verde regional park.
Continuous activities in synergy with the territory
Yesterday’s concert ended with thanks from Father Andrii and Sestra Olexia, then the collection of generous donations, combined with the distribution of the book which documents and recounts the humanitarian missions of “Frontiers of Peace” in Ukraine, giving voice to faces and stories of Ukrainian women and men oppressed by war. Then the reception in the oratory with the parish priest, Don Giusto Della Valle. Also present at the evening were the parish priest of Maccio, Don Gigi Zuffellato, and the parish priest of Solbiate and Concagno, Don Cesare Bianchi. The holiday of the Ukrainian guests is also organized thanks to the sharing responses of various parishes, oratories, associations, municipalities (there is the patronage of the Municipality of Como and the support of the Municipality of Olgiate Comasco and the Municipality of Villa Guardia) and companies. A collective availability that helps in the organization of the complex program of the stay in Como.
