L’AQUILA – Powerful and unique voice, dark look and a contagious smile: Skin, singer of Skunk Anansie returns to L’Aquila and on Friday 5th will be the protagonist of the Notte Bianca, the second edition of the Notte Bianca della Città Territorio. An initiative created thanks to a synergy between the
municipal administrations of L’Aquila and Scoppito with events spread across the hamlets of Sassa Scalo, Cese di Preturo and Scoppito itself, a bordering territory. Deborah Anne Dyer, the real name of Skin was born in the London neighborhood of Brixton on August 3, 1967 to parents of Jamaican origin.
With Skunk Anansie, active in the 1990s, she arrived in Italy for the first time at the Sanremo Festival in 1999.
The same year saw one of their biggest successes: the album ‘Post Orgasmic Chill’. In 2001 the group disbanded and Skin embarked on a solo career; she was also a judge on ‘X Factor’. In addition to Skin, the protagonist of a quality DJ set, Fargetta, Dj SiRK, Cricca, El Matador and many other artists will also perform. But this year’s real superstar will be the Mammoth, celebrated on the 70th anniversary of its discovery. The remains are preserved in the Castle of L’Aquila. The Mammut Village will be set up, within which a thematic round table and a series of related initiatives will be organised.
Sports will also play a leading role, with a variety of events that include padel, touch rugby and a 10 km race. This race, organized by the Proloco di Scoppito in collaboration with the Atletica Abruzzo of President Valter Paro, will be open to all as a non-competitive walk. Trials for children are also planned. In addition, there will be exhibition spaces set up in collaboration with Fiva
Confcommercio L’Aquila. Organizational supervision is carried out by the mayors Pierluigi Biondi and Loreto Lombardi. Coordination is done by the councillors
municipal councilors from L’Aquila, Katia Persichetti and Livio Vittorini, and by Scoppito councilor Amedeo Tirabassi, in collaboration with the Proloco and local associations.
