AVEZZANO. He loses control of his motorbike and goes off the road. She is in a reserved prognosis at the Avezzano hospital Alfredo Mascigrande, a 42-year-old municipal councilor of the city, was injured in a car accident in the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Mascigrande, a Fiamm-Siapra employee and factory worker, was returning home after a dinner with friends.
He was riding his motorbike when, for reasons yet to be clarified, he lost control of the vehicle while traveling along Via Romana, near the roundabout, in the northern area of the city. Mascigrande, on whose motorbike a friend of his was also travelling, was immediately rescued and urgently transferred under code red to Avezzano hospital. He was diagnosed with several traumas and was admitted to intensive care as a precaution. The prognosis remains reserved, but his life is not in danger. Fortunately, the friend who was traveling with him did not suffer serious injuries. The 42-year-old is well known in the city both for his political activity and his union commitment. The doctors reassured the family by explaining that the stay in intensive care was decided for precautionary purposes and that the patient could be transferred to the ward in the next few days.
Mascigrande, currently organizational secretary of Uil Metalmeccanici in the L’Aquila-Teramo section and plant union representative in the Fiamm-Siapra company, where batteries for cars and industrial vehicles are produced, began working in the Zuccherificio Sadam plant in Celano, and then covered the role of specialized maintenance technician at Madama Oliva in Carsoli, Hydro Building Systems Italy Spa and the Burgo di Avezzano paper mill. At the same time he pursued his passion for politics and then landed in the Avezzano city council in September 2020 among the ranks of the League.
Mascigrande is the city’s most voted municipal councilor and sits on the opposition benches in the city council.
In December 2021 he decided to leave the League and join “Noi Moderati.
The Honorable Maurizio Lupi chose him as organizational secretary of the territorial council and immediately afterwards as provincial coordinator of “Noi Moderati”. It was with the party founded by Lupi that he ran in the elections of 10 March in the centre-right coalition led by Marcus Marsilio. Mascigrande collected over 2,500 preferences, but was unable to enter the regional council.
