ASIAGO – The wave of bad weather that is currently affecting the municipalities of Asiago and Gallio has caused quite a few inconveniences. Since four this morning, Sunday 23 June, the firefighters have been responding to flooding of streets, shops, basements, garages and rooms below the road surface. Heavy torrential rains hit the area and caused two streams to overflow between Asiago and Gallio.
Landslide in the Schio area
There is no news of anyone injured. Over 60 calls to the 115 operations room. The rescue device of the Asiago firefighters was integrated with the sending of teams from Vicenza and volunteer staff from the Thiene and Recoaro detachments. Situation improving. The waterways flow back into the riverbeds.
In the Schio area firefighters intervened due to a landslide in Contrà Masetto and along the road from San Rocco di Tretto to Schio where the road remained blocked. During the night a tree blocked traffic along the ring road in Schio. Interventions in the Schio area due to water damage.
Roads blocked in the Belluno area
Shortly after dawn today, the Feltre firefighters and Veneto Strada technicians had to intervene in the municipality of Sovramonte (Belluno) due to a washout of debris that invaded the carriageway of Regional Road 50 which connects Fonzaso with Predazzo in Trentino Alto Adige. Similar intervention was also carried out on the Trentino side of the road.
Shortly before 6am, the firefighters of the Lower Feltre area intervened on another landslide in Lamon, along the Sp 40. Also in this case, a Veneto roads vehicle intervened to clear the roadways.
