“Pesaro has heart and passion for football, we aim to break the barrier of a thousand season tickets.” This is what owner Mauro Bosco spoke during the press conference at the end of the championship.

Actionable objective? Certainly yes, if we consider that it happened in recent years, in the season of the return to Serie C, with Colucci on the bench: 1,056 cards removed. If we consider that in Serie D with Sassarini the 1,300 mark was even exceeded, but with a campaign at rock-bottom prices. And the programming for next season promises well, with a Vis that intends to honor the fresh role of second force of regional football, behind Ascoli (even if in terms of virtuous management it fears no comparison).

In the meantime, there is a trend of recovery of the public at Benelli. The championship just ended ended with an average of 1,503 spectators at the stadium (603 season ticket holders), leaving out the first two days on a neutral pitch in Recanati for work on the Benelli turf. Which means 11th place in the group’s audience rankings. If we also include the full house of the playout with Recanatese (3,000 spectators) the average rises to 1,586. That was the peak of the last 6 years, higher than Vis-Fano in 2018-19 (2,854). The foreign public contributed with 220 average attendances, but with a guest sector (588 seats) which appeared insufficient on several occasions (Rimini, Ancona, Cesena). The proceeds came close to 200,000 euros in the championship, to which must be added the 36,000 from the playout won. These numbers tell us that we are not too far from the best season of the last 6 years in Serie C, 2018-19, when the average attendance was 1,701 at the Benelli and the takings reached 285,000 euros.

We then talked about the growing trend. Well, if the first post-Covid season (2021-22, with the psychological effects of the pandemic still tangible) recorded an average of just under 1,000 spectators (peak of 1,929 against Ancona), in the following season the average rose to 1,170 , equivalent to 9th place in the group. The leap of the last championship, which approached 1,600, is evident. In terms of subscriptions, said of the 1,056 in 2018-19, post-Covid recorded a collapse (412 in ’20-21), then the slow rise: 598 in 2022-23 and 603 in the last one. But the data from which to start again, a real turning point in many ways, is that of the 2,944 presences in Vis-Recanatese, with 300 guests. If Vis is able to indulge that passion again, repaid with salvation, then it will be able to transform that capital into a broader and more lasting following. It must also be said that we are far from the golden years: the 3,216 average spectators of 1986-87 (C2 triumph), the 2,951 and 2,511 of the following two years (C1). Or the 2,343 attendances in 2000-01 (C1). Numbers that are difficult to repeat. But one step at a time, you can grow.
