Easy, just consult “The most beautiful sea”, the analysis on the quality of the coasts of Italian seas and lakes carried out by Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club. The guide reviews over 400 Italian coastal municipalities, awarding with the highest recognition, the five sails, those who have been able to best combine territories and places of excellence with courageous and innovative sustainable development strategies. In this edition the five sails – assigned to places that have focused on good land management, excellent services, maintenance of historic centers – fly over 21 municipalities throughout Italy.

These are the most beautiful places in Puglia, a region on the third step of the podium with three 5-sail municipalities. The region is divided into twelve districts, from the Gargano to the Lower Adriatic Salento; Standing out are a municipality in the Gargano, Vieste, and two municipalities in the Ionian Upper Salento, Nardò and Porto Cesareo.
