Di Ponzio has a deep bond with his city, which is reflected in the project he created together with the presidency during the creation of the company: “I experienced the rebirth of Prisma Volley firsthand – he says -. Tonio and Elisabetta involved me in the their desire to bring volleyball back to Taranto and in style”.

Thanks to their dedication, in just one year the team managed to access the Super League, the championship of the World Champions. For four years, Taranto has been steadily among the twelve most important national volleyball players, a result that the city owes to the determination and passion of Tonio Bongiovanni and Elisabetta Zelatore.

Di Ponzio, who has origins in the world of football, now finds himself dividing his time between the profession of lawyer, his commitments as a councilor of the Bar Association and the activity of deputy federal prosecutor of the FIGC, together with the “wonderful and unique world of volleyball”.

Looking to the future, Di Ponzio is determined and ambitious: “I have a double regret over these four years: having lived through the playoff final to access the Super League in an empty stadium due to the health emergency and having lost almost all the ties break this year. However, we are sure that next season will be another, wonderful story.”

Taranto can be proud of having an important volleyball team, supported by a club envied for its seriousness, passion and fairness. “This is how you do sport,” concludes Di Ponzio.
