TRIESTE – A quick and efficient intervention rescue was carried out today, 22 June 2024, by the nautical specialists of the Trieste fire brigade, an operation coordinated by the Port Authority. Around 4.10pmrescue teams were alerted to an accident on the old dam, where one person was seriously injured.
Prompt action in critical conditions
As soon as the alarm is received, i fire fighters they reached the accident site, demonstrating once again their preparation and readiness in dealing with emergency situations in the marine environment. The injured man was promptly helped and transported to the nautical detachment of the Porto Vecchio. Here, a team of healthcare workers already waiting took care of the injured person, ensuring essential first aid.
Recovery of the dinghy
After ensuring the safety of the injured man, the VF S002 motorboat returned to the area of the old dam. In a particularly treacherous area, overlooking the open sea, rescuers located and recovered the injured person’s dinghy, which had run aground on the rocks. The vessel was transported safely to the VVF detachment of the Porto Vecchio, avoiding further risks.
