A woman died in an accident that occurred on the provincial road 51 Campobello di Mazara-Torretta Granitola, near the road that leads to the Kartibubbo tourist village.
The woman was on board a three-wheeler loaded with watermelons and driven by her nephew. According to an initial reconstruction, the vehicle made a risky maneuver and was dragged for a few tens of meters by a truck that was walking in its lane in the direction of Tre Fontane. The woman died instantly, while her nephew was rescued by 118 operators and transported, in very serious conditions, by air ambulance to Palermo. The Campobello traffic police and the Carabinieri intervened on site.
